D/V Area Event Coordinator Greg Freeman introduces the Bill Pickett Rodeo, a 41-year-old traveling rodeo celebrating and honoring Black cowboys and cowgirls. The rodeo is named for famed Black cowboy Willie “Bill” Pickett, who invented the discipline “bulldogging,” now known as steer wrestling.
